The Tits Up hub has been put together as a resource for anybody wanting to find out more about dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis. We aim to signpost visitors to the best information resources available, and we aim to offer support and ideas on how to cope with a diagnosis.
The idea evolved though conversations with readers following the publication of 'Tits Up - A Journey Laid Bare', by Carole Paterson in which she explains how staying connected and being creative helped her enormously when she was going through treatment for breast cancer.
Carole is helped enormously by Lilli, who proofread the original manuscript and orchestrated a fabulous book launch back in 2022. Lilli now looks after the social media, the website content and assisting with events and socials.
On the social side of things, the duo were supported massively by the lovely Geraldine who was incredibly positive and always bursting with ideas. Sadly, after dealing with breast cancer twice over the past ten years, Geraldine passed away earlier this year from secondary breast cancer. She left an enormous hole but also a wonderful legacy of hope for fellow patients. We asked Geraldine's daughter Shivvy if we could include Geraldine on the site because if she had been here, she would definitely have been part of the team.
In memory of Geraldine, Carole would like to say a few words:
"Geraldine was an absolute whirlwind of positivity and inspiration. She was so supportive of everything we have tried to do with Tits Up and I know she would have been helping us now if she could. She was a tiny person with an enormous personality and we miss her terribly"
